Day 1

Hello everyone,
We have arrived!  A long day.  It started with 3 people not having a seat and we were waiting for American Airlines to find us one (in other words, they give someone else $300 in travel vouchers in exchange for their seat and another flight - connecting via New York).
Fortunately last second we had 3 seats.... God is in control!

here's the picture as we appraoched Managua.

As you can see below, it's a beautiful and CLEAR, sunny day.  The sky is truly blue.  The clouds look fluffy and the palm trees... well it's warm! (sorry for you in Markham at 2 C and raining)

The hotel is across from the airport.  The taxi took almost as long as those who walked across the road.   We sat in the lobby for a while.  We also connected with Cledwyn who has been helping us plan the computer room that we are setting up.  he did a great job with the leg work.  The room is mostly built and now Vern and I have to just put computers in place.  Thanks Cledwyn.  He got the internet up and running!!!

Now it's time to chill and relax.  Another 6am flight to bluefields in the morning.

We have been busy.   Already conference called over to Bluefields with Steve & Paul who are there now.  A few items have come up.  Final plans for the computer lab and teacher training.  I think I forgot a key CD (Microsoft Office) so I'll be downloading my license and software again from Bluefields.

All for now.  Please pray for Kat - she's in the picture on the right (sitting on the left).  she might have the flu.

our team members are:
Vern (leader), Kevin, Jeremy, Rebecca, Izzy (in the photo with the van at the top), Emran and Kat.

Pray for unity, and health.  All for now!

  1. I forgot to mention - the Tsunami warnings because of the earthquake in Japan have not affected Nicaragua. There have been no reports of Tsunami's in Central America and Bluefields is on the East Coast, far far away from possible Tsunamis on the west.
