Day 2 - morning

I had hoped to post in smaller chunks but didn't have time.  Short post for now!  Having trouble posting photos.  I hope to add them later.

We woke up at 4am (thanks to Izzy changing our wake up call time... and Jeremy thought it was a good idea) (you know this means you'll see a post later about what we did back...)

Went to the airport (across the road) to get on our twin prop airplane (which seated about 60).  Flight was 6am, and we arrived uneventfully at Bluefields at about 7am.  Pastor Ed met us at the airport and drove us in his truck (yes, he has a pickup truck too).  Let's see... 7 team members and Pastor Ed, means 8 people.  his truck will seat 5.  THEREFORE, 3 people were hanging in the bed of the truck holding on with our luggage.  He drove slow and everyone was safe.
This is a common practice here, as in many countries in Central America.  An impromptu picture of the Pastor Ed, Jeremy, Izzy, Paul (who was already here), Kat and Rebecca.

We had breakfast and then rested for a bit. We went for a drive to see the school and pickup a few computer supplies.  First past the school to the town dump.    You will see photos here of adults and children picking through the garbage with the long sticks looking for things they might be able to use.  Remember, there is 80% unemployment here.  It was a relatively quiet day at the garbage dump.

We were unable to get into the office where they were stored so we toured the school.
Computer room is almost done.  We hope to see it finished by tomorrow!  I will include many photos of the school in general.  Very different than schools in North America.  Great big THANKS to Cledwyn.  he did an awesome job in setup and the software you left made my life much easier. The other laptops need to be fully installed.  Great job on the antenna for the WiFi too!
The above picture is a photo shoot off of Vern and me.  This is in the new computer room.  Workers were working all around us.

We returned and around 12:00 had a yummy lunch cooked by Frankford.  Great food, great dessert.

More to come...
